Welcome to Red class!
We are a lower key stage 2 class, typically supporting students between the ages of 7-9 years old. We have 10 pupils in our class currently, who are usually supported by 5 adults.
We have lots of fun learning all about different topics as we follow the school's thematic curriculum,as well as key focus on developing our independence, and communication skills. Role-play and learning through play is a key area in Red Class, helping us to learn body care skills such as; teeth cleaning, brushing dolls hair then doing our own, pretend trips to the dentist with adults looking inside our mouths or time at the doctors, putting on plasters. In class we love sharing and retelling stories, all taking an active role in the story. Another one of our favourite class activities is cooking! We enjoy making bagel pizzas, lots of different flavoured muffins and our own scrambled eggs for snack time.
We also enjoy swimming on a weekly basis, using the soft play room and going out on the bus, where we visit lots of different places. Some of our preferred outings are going to different parks, walking around the city, visiting the library, exploring the woods and helping to buy our own class snacks at the supermarket.
Take a look at our autumn term gallery to see what we have been up to:
Below you will find our Class Learning Overview for our recent 'The Seasons' topic:
We have created a 'Home Learning Support Sheet' for anyone in class who needs to access learning away from school at this time. On the sheet you will find activity ideas and links covering each of the school curriculum areas. For further support or information please contact your class teacher Ruth in the first instance.
Please find below some story readings from one of the staff in Red Class, all linked to our current school topic, Magic and Mystery!
All of the staff in Red Class are really missing you and have made this short video to say hello!
