Post-16 Curriculum

Our thriving further education department is made up of two classes, F.E. and Cullum Lodge, which is our post 16 Autistic Resource Base. Each Class prepares our young people for the next stage of their life and learning. Students move away from most topic based learning and enjoy a more adult centred atmosphere, where the emphasis is placed on self help and independence skills. 

All students gain accreditation in a wide range of subjects, linked to different awarding bodies whilst some of our work and targets are also taken from other areas. Further information can be found by clicking on the links below.

Autistic Education Trust (AET)

Our location near the centre of Norwich enables students access a diverse range of cultural and social opportunities with increasing independence; local colleges, leisure centres, shops, cafes and museums. Students in this department are encouraged to be active citizens and make a positive contribution through participating in charity or voluntary work.

Pupils in our Post 16 Department also take part in lessons linked to our thematic curriculum topics.  A sample of our thematic curriculum planning for an academic year cycle can be seen below:
