Upcoming Class Events:
Blue Class is for pupils whose barriers to learning are linked to their communication and therapy needs, the high level of support they need to develop their self-help skills and with their interaction and self-regulation skills. We focus on functional situations that allow us to learn through doing and experiencing, and having fun."Attention Autism and Sensory Story sessions are both enjoyable for all and provide a unique opportunity to encourage communication and socialization in a group."
Blue Class has a varied timetable to provide an opportunity for all pupils to use their communication skills as much as possible, for example making a request or expressing feelings using the zones of regulation.
Attention Autism and Sensory Story sessions are both enjoyable for all and provide a unique opportunity to encourage communication and socialization in a group.
Activities also include learning through “sensory” play using a wide range of suitable materials that we relate to the whole school topic each half-term.
Physical Education includes simple exercises for example trampolining, soft-play, walking and swimming in our school pool to improve general fitness and maintain well-being.
"Independence skills are worked on in Personal Care Sessions and throughout the whole school" Community visits include visits to the local park, woods or beach. We visit a local supermarket with a symbolic/written list to purchase class supplies for snacks and cooking ingredients.
Independence skills are worked on in Personal Care Sessions and throughout the whole school day by carrying out tasks for example setting the table or making a simple snack.
We are all excited in Blue Class for the new academic year 2022/23 and look forward to each pupil learning and developing their skills every day,

On the sheet you will find activity ideas and links covering each of the school curriculum areas. For further support or information please contact your class teacher Georgie in the first instance.
